I imagine it'll be ALOT like Millennium Force at night, if not worse. I just recently expierenced Millennium front row seat at night, and I must say, the bugs are INSANE!!! But it was still the ride of a lifetime. Im sure Diamondback will be close to as good of a ride as Millennium is.

This is so typical Kings Island. Build a second-rate "me too" roller coaster. Sure, it has the modified stadium seating, but it's barely taller than SOB, it's not any taller than the Magnum at Cedar Point (which has been around for almost 2 decades now), and although it is pretty fast, it's very short (3 minutes total including the lift hill, which will be a slow, traditional "clickity clack" lift hill) and offers nothing new by way of coaster design. It's just like Behometh which CP built in Canada recently. *Yawn* I'm sure it will be fun, but it's not that new or exciting of a coaster. I was hoping KI would actually build something fairly innovative, or something at least 250+ ft in height, or at least a diving coaster which are only at a very few parks so far. But I'm sure the CP execs save the really good rides for CP. If folks want to ride real coasters in the midwest, go to CP or Holiday World in Indiana and ride "The Voyage," which are coasters built with actual new ideas.

Whether it's a new idea or not, KI needs a coaster like this. Their tallest steel coaster is 148 feet and 21 years old. DB is what they need to catch up with the other parks if they want to keep bringing in thrillseekers.
I can't wait to ride it. I've never been on a B&M hyper, and I'm stoked about having one so close to home.

TJ: This is one thing Kings Island needed. How is this a second rate coaster? This is high quality B&M. It is taller than Magnum, Magnum is 205', this is 230'. It is not short by any means, 3 minutes is a hell of a long time. It will be exciting, have you ever ridden one of these before? Divers are no where near as exciting, there's a reason the've only been built a couple times. And what kind of Bull is that saying they save all the good rides of Cedar Point? Do you think they would perpously let their other parks rot while one thrives? Besides, it has a splashdown, which is a new element for a hyper. You have no idea what you are talking about, this is a beautiful ride and is extremely high quality, so quit you're complaining TJ.

down hill isan awsome experience. with drops like this, it may become second best, or possibly,1st. that's better than beast.
p.s. the splashdown ruins the best of rides though.

I understand if someone would be disappointed with the announcement of the new coaster. But remember this is Cedar Fair. I think they want to save the record breakers / innovation for their main attraction, which would be Cedar Point.
Regardless of any expectations that may not have been met, this is going to be an amazing ride. Especially, if nothing else, because of the land it will be built on. Sharing the same woodlands as the beast.
On that note, I hope that this ride doesn't detract from the Beast as far as the whole feeling of being in the middle of nowhere in the forest. After all this will change the skyline forever.
I, for one, am currently planning my trip for next season to ride this awesome coaster.

I can not wait to ride this absoluteley sick coaster next year. It would be my second B&M coaster.

TJ, how the hell is Voyage original by ANY means? Hades in Wisconsin had every single element Voyage had before, and pulled it off better.

KI needed a new coaster badly, and I'm glad they're getting one that is high quality (B&M really know their stuff0 and one that's massive (yes, TJ, 230 ft is pretty darn tall.) If you look at B&M's other hypers you'll see that they have similar heights, and DB is right up there with the tallest.
Imagine if KI were still owned by paramount. They hadn't built a new coaster since SOB and it didn't look like they were going to build a new one of any size any time soon. Then cedar fair comes in and brings in firehawk pretty much right away. Now they're building DB, which is going to be sweet. So stop complaining.

Ok so they did build the italian job, which is ok, but I meant a real coaster, something of substantial height.

jackson, this will be there first custom coaster since son of beast, better yet the largest one in the parks history.

Well, I think we know whether Cedar Fair buying the park was a good thing or bad thing now!

Give the ride a chance. This is an improvement to what they have added in the past at KI.

This ride is kind of like Apollos Chariot except bigger I love the restraint system. It,ll give you that Freefall feeling. A C has 9 drops. Diamondback will have 10. I have my 09 season pass and can,t wait to ride this baby!

Diammodback is going to be great I can't wait to ride it I havent been on millenium force because i'm scared and i think if i go on this i might go on it
