Haunted maze

The problem would be staffing. In most cases, the quality of a haunted maze / walk-through is directly proportional to the number of people working. Actors and attendants.

Ā

Thorpe Park had a SAW-themed horror maze that stayed open year round for two years before becoming Halloween only.

Ā

I guess it's possible, but I'd expect an up-charge of at least $5 a person. And like Dinosaurs Alive, I'm not sure that that could be sustainable long-term.Ā

Ā

I mean, I guess to some extent, they might as well try. What good is it to have the thing set up and gathering dust in the Tomb Raider showbuilding all season? Might as well put a few workers in costumes and make some extra money off of it.

You won't find any problems with staffing given how many people there are within the Greater Cincinnati area that would KILL for a year-round haunt to open up.

Ā

If they put an up-charge on the attraction, it had better be on par with the likes of The Dent Schoolhouse (or even the USS Nightmare) on all fronts. I don't want to waste $5 walking through Club Blood and be done in three minutes.

YEa that would be the biggest issue for one now I feel. If they are going to make it a major attraction all it's own it would need to be top quality and a good length (especiaily if charging for it). Right now I feel that are two best ones are Slaughterhouse and Madame Fatale's, but I don't feel that either is strong enough in both quality and length to be a major attraction and a separate upcharge. The quality in general is pretty good for them but would need to be longer, however they are already filling their spaces as is, so not sure if they could really be made longer without making major changes to the structure. Slaughterhouse could be possible, but I doubt they would make alterations to the Crypt building for a haunt, even a year round one.

Back on closing weekend last year, KIC got a lights-on tour of Madame Fatale's. IIRC (and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong), that building has quite a bit of space to expand the maze if they so choose to.

I'd be glad to see a new season-long themed walk-through attraction; these are a dying breed.

Ā

Compared to Haunt mazes, perhaps it would be focused more on detailed scenes & funhouse effects than on paying associates to scream at guests. Doing the latter full time could be stressful on a scaractor's voice, and I can't imagine these being easy positions to fill 7 days a week during the summer.

The dedicated buildings are serving as storage for Haunt props. KI owns a lot of them.

I'm not saying the problem would beĀ findingĀ the staffing. It would be justifying it. Without an upcharge, I don't know how they could.
