Is there anyway to find out what company is renting the park? My youth leader wanted to go on a trip up there. I told her it would probly be closed, but she said "Oh, they would'nt rent out on the weekends." Well its gonna be closed that day.

Anyways my mom and her friends went to PKI oneday when it had been rented out without looking at the calender, but managed to ge tickets to the event by a person who felt sorry for her and her friends.

Is it possible to get tickets?

Probably not real likely you'll get any sympathy tickets during September. It's one of those things that they plaster over everything: The park is closed during September.

If it was some random day or weekend over the summer, when the park is usually open during that time, then it may be more likely you'd get a sympathy ticket.

Well this upcoming weekend, Procter & Gamble has rented out the park. These companies must pay some big bucks to rent out the park. (Even at Coney Island this past weekend, we were closed to the public on Saturday, and only open to Children`s Hospital employees and their families (all 11,000 of them, which is not fun at a park the size of Coney!)).

It's not worth it to try to get into the park in September unless you are with the companies that bought it out. It's a sellout and it's posted everywhere that it's closed to the public, so there really is no excuse to showing up. Even the marquee out side says "Park Closed Today, Private Event".

Did you happen to see the sky diver on 9-11? It was pretty cool. The park played Lee Greenwood and the guy jumped out of the plan with a big red smoke trail following him and he unravlled the flag and landed behind the Tower. It was really neat to see.

Procter & Gamble day was very crowded last year just like a crowded weekend in the summer on Saturday would be. Waits were about hour to hour half almost. I got there around noon last year and that was proably my problem. I'm looking forward to going this Saturday got tickets from my mom. Another visit free I get to enjoy this season. biggrin.gif

Yeah thats a lot of people to stuff into Coney Island. Even at SFKK, 11K is a healthy number....

These days, 11k at Ed Hart & Co.'s New Kentucky Kingdom would be cause for joyous dancing in the streets of both Louisville and Frankfort.

Unless you mean $11,000 revenue for the day. (By all accounts, several Kentucky State Fair days didn't even produce that).

Holy thread bump Batman.

I opened this up and saw where the OP stated he rode the backwards Racer twice and nearly crapped myself seeing if I could get a 2nd job with GE next season. They wouldn't even half to pay me, just let me relive my youth a bit. But alas, I see the date, no such luck.
