Spring is here! You know what that means: Kings Island will be opening for the 2013 season on Saturday, April 27th!

The next big thing has arrived at Kings Island! The Reds Hall of Fame Grille in Rivertown brings the level of dining at Kings Island to new heights. This full table-service restaurant is a MUST for any Reds fan. You could spend hours in there just gazing at the historical photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts from the Reds organization history that can trace its roots back to 1869.

Oh yeah, and the food? Amazing. Not even just "theme park amazing" but AMAZING amazing. They serve an eclectic menu of burgers, wings, wraps, chips and deserts. The dish that seemed to impress members of the media the most at Thursday's preview was the incredible fall-off-the-bone tender ribs. The Reds Hall of Fame Grille opens with the park on Saturday, April 27th. Check it out for the first time on Saturday and you'll be hooked for the rest of the season!!

Speaking of big things, how about the world's tallest animatronic dinosaur being added to Dinosaurs Alive!? This towering beast can be seen above the tree line throughout the park! You must see this one for yourself!

Kings Island Will Color You Pink on Opening Day!

The weather outside may still be frightful, but any news about Kings Island's Opening Day is always delightful!

2013 is going to be an exciting season, and Kings Island is kicking off the excitement right from the start. On April 27th, Kings Island will host the Color Me Pink 5k run/walk to support the Susan G Komen Foundation's fight against breast cancer. This inaugural event will allow participants to see the park from a unique perspective as they traverse the course through areas of the park that are typically off limits to the general public.

While participating in the 3.1 mile event, runners and walkers will be doused in pink coloring, so be warned that your clothes will get pink.... very pink!!!

Time Is Running Out!

Just as a reminder - Kings Island will close its doors for the 2012 season on Sunday, October 28th! This is your last opportunity to catch a few last rides on some of your favorite attractions like Diamondback, The Beast, and The Zephyr!

Also don't forget that if you intend to renew your season pass for the 2013 season, now is the time! The price of season passes goes up after October 28th so you might as well lock in the price. 2012 Halloween Haunt Lineup Announced!

It's time once again for the leaves to begin to fall from the trees, the sun to set earlier, and for zombies, freaks, psychopaths and monsters to again occupy our favorite family-friendly summer hangout. That's right - it's time for Halloween Haunt!

New attractions include:

Madame Fatale's Cavern of Terror - Madame Fatale is finally free! She just passed her final psychological exam and she's finally being released! She's looking forward to going back to work. In honor of the reopening of her museum of wax and oddities, she's put you on the guest list... and all of her friends will be dripping mad!

Blood Drums - A new show in Action Zone in which you will feel the pulsating power of rapturous misfit drummers in this percussive blood bath of rhythm and music! It's a punk rock stomp!

Returning attractions include such bloody favorites as Cut Throat Cove, The Slaughter House, Club Blood, and the smash-hit vampire musical revue Hot Blooded!

Is blood and guts not your thing? You can enjoy some of Kings Island's major attractions into the late hours of the night during Haunt! Attractions such as Diamondback, the Vortex, Adventure Express and the legendary Beast will be open until 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights during Halloween Haunt!

Goodbye my friend

I just found out that a fellow KIC member Keith Harrison (KIFan1980) passed away last night after a heroic battle with cancer.

I first met Keith at the Diamondback station waiting in line. I was new to KIC and to being a coaster enthusiast. Keith recognized me from my avatar and extended his hand to welcome me to the family.

I will miss you for now, but am sure that we will meet again and i know that his hand will be outstretched when we reunite.
