Wow, the park has changed SO MUCH since it's infancy. I remember some of those old rides, even though I didn't start going to the park until 1986. Great video!

What a trip down memory lane. I miss the sky cars (name?)-was a quick way to get from one end of the park to the other. The antique cars should have never been removed.

The old dutch shoes ride from Oktoberfest area, original to the park, is now in Louisville at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. I now ride it with my kids, always thinking about when I first rode it as a kid at King's Island!

Thank you so much for posting this video. IT IS AMAZING!!! It is so great to see the park the way I remember it from when I was a kid. I didn't know something so simple, ordinary, could bring me such joy. Thanks so much.

Oh this is so wonderful. This video is so clear. Was that an 8mm camera? Thanks for being a shutter bug! Beautiful job!

There's about 15 minutes of video I downloaded off of you tube from the 70's that includes everything in the park including a ride through the enchanted voyage! I wish they'd bring that back. No matter how old you were that was always fun to ride though

This was Kings Islands golden era, when it had lots of character and some heart. It was like entering a magical fantasy world when you walked through those gates, and spent an entire day having fun. The park was full of of flowers and wonderfully landscaped, with little areas to sit down and cool off. I especially liked the long tunnel of greenery that was lined with benches, and lit with tiny lights at night. Unfortunately most of the "quaint" aspects of KI were gutted by Paramount
