  1. I wanted to give a little bit of an update to Mysti. At this current step of time, they're currently working on the break run and #whatsintheshed area. Photo is zoomed in via DB Webcam.

  2. In this instance I would bet they knew who they wanted to go with. They might not have taken any other proposals? Total guess on my part.

  4. No, just... no! Fix whats screwed up royally at the 11 parks they currently own, and leave the others alone. We,the park going public, already have enough (too many) cookie cutter Corporate parks, leave the smaller parks (Indiana Beach and Adventureland come to mind) for those who cant, or wont, pay $9 for a subpar burger or pay-to-cut upcharges. People seem to forget that competition can be a very good thing. An example of how it can be good AND bad together, is the "my lift hill is bigger than your lift hill" contest that went on between CP and SF:WoA. That created mass expansion on both ends, but also gross financial over-extention on both ends as well. One was in a position to survive, one was not. However, if all of the small parks are overtaken (and in my eyes, slowly destroyed) by the CFs and the SIXs of the US, all that will happen is a rise in price point to that of Disney levels, without the corresponding rise in guest service and experience. The Corporations have to recoup the cost of park acquisitions somehow, and as you pointed out in the case of Dorney, it will be at the expense of those smaller parks... and the guests that visit them.... getting nothing in return.

  5. I just wanted to say that I finished level 2 earlier today. It was definitely worth doing, although I am not a huge fan of the puzzles in one area, I just felt like there was not enough instruction. Having said that, if you have never been to Adventure before I cannot recommend enough to go and experience the first level if nothing else. It only takes an hour or two and is extremely well done. If you want to experience everything and complete the harder set of puzzles expect to spend two or three days. Take a pencil, flashlight, camera, and a notebook. Be willing to ask for assistance if you are stuck because some of the puzzles are difficult. This is a very unique experience which will soon disappear for good and this is your last chance. If anyone wants some assistance on level 2 just ask. I will try to help without giving too much away.

  6. They had mentioned this is was being proposed since Prowler beat Diamondback for best new ride of 2009, so I imagine that they were pretty set on GCI from the beginning. I'm actually pretty happy with GCI, they are great traditional wood coasters and often are much more intense then people would think just by looking at stats. Edit: https://www.instagram.com/p/BN2HEvuh4D-/?taken-by=kingsislandpr for a pic of a WWC crossing.

  7. No I don't think they need to expand. I agree that they should take care of the parks they already own. They would strip the charm away from places like Dollywood. An owner like Herschend understands what to do with Dollywood. Dollywood does theme first, coasters second and Cedar Fair would do coasters first, with theme a distant second. CF does alright with the bigger parks in the chain but the smaller ones suffer and that would get worse with more parks.

  8. I begged my sister to take me to Kings Island one last time before the end of the season. So she agreed to take me. We got to the park at 4:50pm. Did the annual get our picture by the sign, go to the restroom etc.. We choose to ride Racer first and only waited about 15 minutes. Went to go check out Mystic Timber. It looks so cool close up and a lot went on since I had been there the Friday before. ( 10/21/16) Since we were close to it, we rode The Beast. Only waited an hour for it. Looked at the Kings Island app and saw it was only an hour wait. Waited only 45 minutes and got the second row. Went to Bat to experience that at night. The wait was only 20 minutes, which isn't that bad. On our way to get our blue ice cream and potato works, we rode Adventure Express real quick. 25 minute wait for that. Line for The Beast was so long we just took our potato works in line. Waited almost an hour and half. My sister wanted to leave but I begged her to let me ride Racer one more time. So we did that, and the line was so short we just rode it twice. Went over to see Banshee one last time, then walked away without looking back. lol. Best memory has to be getting to ride The Racer 9 times and riding The Beast again. One of the annoying things was how food service was this year, especially the blue ice cream stand in Planet Snoopy. Some of the ride people were slow. But I'd never ever not go back to Kings Island cause of that. I'd have to say it was a good year at Kings Island since I went 5 times and have a gold pass for next year. Got to ride 95 rides this year. The Beast - 20 Banshee - 14 Diamondback - 11 Racer - 21 Vortex - 4 The Bat - 2 Flight of Fear - 2 Adventure Express - 9 Invertigo - 2 Drop Tower - 1 Delirium - 2 Scrambler - 2 Viking Fury - 4 Shake Rattle And Roll - 1 Till next year...........

  10. Does anyone ever wonder what other companies may have our haven't designed different proposal coasters to KI before they chose GCI? I wonder what other possibilities there could have been

  11. I agree they should fix or take care of the parks already in the chain. Even though I liked the 4 Cedar Fair parks I have been to, I wouldn't want them to buy Hersheypark for many reasons. Dorney is in a tough spot being almost in between Hershey and Great Adventure and with the water park being the main draw, the rides don't attract guests as much as the other 2 parks. Cedar Creek Flyers the most recent addition has never had more than a 1 cycle wait in any of my trips to the park. Opening weekend 2012 when Stinger was added, I waited 10 minutes. In almost any other park a new coaster added especially a lower capacity coaster like a boomerang would be at least an hour wait when it first opened and it was the same low crowds with Hydra, 20 minute wait the day it opened.

  12. No, that would be a nightmare. Though I love Cedar Fair, they would absolutely strip all the charm that Dollywood and Hershey have. They are both extremely popular parks that have stellar attendance every year. Unless both parks are failing miserably there is no reason for Cedar Fair to acquire them. Plus, parks like Dorney, Worlds of Fun, and California's Great America need to grow.

  14. We will probably see a FunTV 6 minute video in the queue lines about how the ride was built starting the next season.

  19. i agree, you would think they would update the construction photos on their webpage at LEAST once every 2 weeks tops. . They are adding pics to Twitter the most. It makes the most sense, most people are on social media sites daily. Bigger audience to hit. You can follow them here: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR Track by the train shead. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CzC0-kdXAAAcF7B.jpg:large

  21. That looks sweet! I'm guessing they dropped the flags and everything because the park realizes the theme has slowly died, and they have no intention of reviving it

  23. I found the website of Place Workshop, the company that is responsible for making the ride plazas like Banshee, Fury 325, and Gatekeeper ass well as Carowinds and Cedar Point's entry plaza as well as the central plaza in Action Zone. I hope that we see them return for Mr. T http://www.placeworkshop.com/projects/

  24. I believe they're talking about the bridge that WWC goes under. I think they're talking about the bridge over the Diamondback valley. It's the only steel and wood trestle bridge along the route that I know of. The WWC one is concrete. But via location, the park made it sound as if it was right after that, which it isn't. It's a little more down the rail. I think it depends on your personal definition of "right after".
