  1. The more I see of this beautiful coaster, the more I like. It's going to have a great combination of floater and nice intense airtime. Something, as I've said before, I've been wanting to see at KI for a long time on a up-to-date wooden coaster! I absolutely cannot wait to get on this thing as it looks extremely re-ridable. I agree that renderings and videos of this coaster are not doing it the justice it deserves. Of course, videos rarely do for any coaster for that fact. C'mon Spring, get here fast!

  3. This teaser to be exact. I thought it really hyped Banshee incredibly well. I wanted to ride this more than I have any other coaster after seeing this video. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Haha, I remember when the pov of Mystic Timbers came out. Many people said they weren't excited for MT because they thought it didn't look intense. It's starting to look the other way around now. Still when I think about we should still be appreciative that CF gave us a coaster, We really didn't need/deserve one. Still, it's great we are getting a good coaster.

  5. Think of it this way. While it might be a bad year for roller coasters. It isn't a great year for amusement parks that will be getting a new roller coaster. More enthusiasts will flock to those parks getting a new ride while others will be slowing down a little bit. This is why 2018 is going to be a bigger Year for parks receiving a new ride. While others will really slow down.

  6. People are saying 2017 is a bad year overall for coasters. I think it will turn out pretty nicely for those of us who visit Kings Island a lot! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Thats probably the lockers shelter. I think MT will have merch in a nearby shop. But I am not seeing a place for its own gift shop in the queue photos

  12. Idk I was fine with Mystic Timbers' announcement video also. They both have a sinilar level of cheesy amusement park video. Bansher just has a much more cohesive context in that the demise of one ride makes more sense for a haunting than a mystic timbers coming about because of some wood that was cut down and put in a truck. But the way it built up once the "threat" was established, feels quite similar in both IMO

  14. I expect to just see Congo Falls be scrapped. It is almost 30 years old and I just cannot see the park justifying the cost of moving the attraction. A similar ride at Carowinds is being removed right now. This would open up enough space in Action Zone to build a new coaster which would run towards Great Wolf Lodge and could turn and run behind The Bat. But long term I also expect to see Timber Wolf removed. There is enough space for several attractions and allows for a more direct entrance to The Bat. I suspect the eXtreme Skyflyer will also be moved at some point. Basiclly rebuild the entire corner of the park over several years.

  15. Shouldn't be a problem as long as I have a week or so notice of which day you want to visit Kennywood. Avoiding August 1 would be best. I'm definitely overdue for a return visit, having only visited once (in 2014). Knowing how much you enjoy Diamondback, I'll be curious to see how Phantom compares. (For me, Phantom is in a close race with Magnum as top hyper.) I generally agree about Dorney, but there's still charm in that park if you look for it. The entrance plaza and front half are very Dick Kinzel-esque.

  16. I love Kennywood too! The Kangaroo ride is an awesome fun flat ride. It is reportedly the only ride of its kind left in the world. My wife (fiance at the time) and I visited Kennywood several years ago. We had a blast. The coasters are all fun, and the place has charm. There is even a reference to Cincinnati`s Coney Island, by the windmill close to the front of the park, that was modeled after one that once resided at Coney Island. There is a plaque denoting this in front of the windmill. I like Kennywood so much, that when a business trip for work had me driving into the Pittsburgh area on a June afternoon, I swung by Kennywood for a few hours in the evening, just by myself. I had a fun time. Waldameer is also a fun park, as is Hershey. Dorney Park is fun too, although it kind of has a feeling of a watered down Cedar Point. They have some similar looking buildings, like their Carousel building and Coasters restaurant.

  17. The only rollbacks I've seen with riders were two trains right after a one-hour shutdown for rain. They were the fourth and fifth trains sent out with riders, IIRC, but it could happen to any of the first few. So try to be on one of the first few trains after a lengthy shutdown. This may require being in line before the ride shuts down and then waiting out the delay in the station, because from my experience, many people will wait out delays on TTD (much more so than other rides) because of the hopes of getting a rollback.

  23. This. But I only go to KI once a year, I hope to squeeze in a second visit this year. But I'll get in my fill of rides at CS. Although, I go to CP many times a year and I know that if I don't go on a particular ride one vist, there's always next time. Just think about 99% of other guests in the park with you don't get to go as much as you.

  25. Have you thought about Waldameer vs Michigan's Adventure? https://rcdb.com/4646.htm I much prefer it over MIA and its only 2.5hrs away from Cedar Point. Don't even think about comparing Kennywood to a Cedar Fair or corporate company. Don't go just for the coasters, the park has a very unique charm about it which is why I rank it so highly. As to get a rollback on TTD, I thought it only roll-backed typically during the beginning and end of the season when the weather is colder in the morning.

  26. Look at it the way I look at going to KI/CP by having a season pass I don't feel like I have to do everything on one visit because I know I'll be back soon. When you do that, you don't have to worry about getting every single thing you want to do done....the biggest thing is be flexible.

  27. When you think about it, it is remarkable that the theming on Flight of Fear has stood up as well as it has. The ride is 21 years old this year!

  28. I once heard a little boy say to his dad, standing by the Son of Beast sign (back when it still had the loop) say, "There is a Beastie, a Beast, and a Son of Beast, but where is mommy Beast?" I literally thought this was pretty funny because I remember his dad rolling his eyes.

  29. A majority of Dollywood's guests/Season Passholders are older folks who go for the shows and food. They park isn't a 100% thrill park. That's why you don't necessarily see lines for their coasters. On top of that they do have pretty efficient operations. As far as the wing coasters on North American Soil, I find Wild Eagle to be the most fun, with a tie between Gatekeeper and X-Flight for number 2 and then Thunderbird is just eh to me. The launch is awesome, but the layout isn't spectacular and is too short IMO.
